Torquay has great transport links. Plenty of buses and trains to nearby towns, do great for day trips out and about.
There is also a leisure centre in town for fitness classes and swimming.
Theatre and cinemas too!
Great spot for a mini break

There is nothing negative that I can say about the Headland Hotel. Superb location. Single room with sea views. A comfortable bed. Spotlessly clean bathroom. The facilities of the room fulfilled all my requirements. Staff were pleasant, friendly and looked after us well. I hope to return again in the future. A perfect stay for me and my family.

Torquay is a delicious, relaxing coastal city where you have the docks or the beach to enjoy sunshine. I was at the end of May and it didn't rain although the sun was missing at moments.
Guesthouses are a good option for accomodation.
There's places near the Visitor Centre and in front of the docks to buy souvenirs.
If you need to use the buses, and ask information to the drivers, be careful since some of them don't seem very eager to help you. The reality is you could walk easily along the beach and wouldn't need the buses.

The harbour area and beachfront are great for relaxing and walking to Babbacombe and Cockington village and also to Paignton. There were also lots of buses as an alternative. Views are fantastic from the front. Torquay town is typical of most towns these days and has a few people sleeping rough. Just a few shops not found elsewhere.

Torquay is a faded gem.
Torquay is a faded gem. Sadly the area lost the many well-paid jobs in technology which, coupled with the loss of domestic holidays to the mediterranean resorts, cost it dear. The area is now run-down, but there are many attractions still available. It's well worth a visit (I would say that, I lived there for ten years and enjoyed it greatly), as it's a unique corner of the UK!
This fabulous spa hotel is in a lovely and very central part of Torquay. The newly fitted spa is amazing and the rooms are all very tastefully decorated as is the rest of the hotel. Breakfasts were delicious and the service very efficient. There is a lot of restaurant choice in Torquay but it's worth 'staying in' for the evening meals here as they were fantastic and great value for money. All of the staff were very attentive and delightful. We'll definitely we back!
The hotel is located within a stone's throw of Torquay harbour. Ganesh (the manager) runs a good business, and is helpful, friendly and welcoming. Hudson's is well-maintained and clean. It's not a swish, modern hotel, but we found it comfortable, indeed we slept very well indeed. Although it's on a main road into town, we didn't find noise a problem. There's a couple of very good restaurants nearby. We liked this hotel a great deal!
I cannot thank Abi and Andy enough. me the Mrs and the dog went for a couple days and just wow. these guys truly make you feel welcome and will go all out for anything that you need. Best price and definitely best accommodation in torquay it's like a 5 star Hotel and just speechless of how amazing this place and the owners are.
Absolutely loved our stay at the Haytor Hotel. Jane and John were amazing hosts so friendly and welcoming. The full English breakfast was one of the best we’ve ever had. The room was modern and clean. Great location within walking distance for Torquay. Would 100% recommend and revisit if ever back in the area.
The hotel is conveniently situated, near Torquay sea front and not far from the town centre. The owner was very helpful, carrying my case up to and down from my room. The room was quite large and comfortable. Breakfast was good and I liked the fact that there was table service rather than self service.
I love the location of the hotel, the fact that it has parking, comfortable rooms, excellent showers, good lighting, GREAT breakfasts. Proper milk in the room in the fridge. Plus efficient and friendly staff. Given how many awful hotels there are in Torquay, this place is a real revelation.
Excellent hotel Great location with parking. Lovely clean spacious room with lots of storage space. Very large comfy bed. Clean well equipped bathroom. Lovely little bar The Griffin connected to hotel Lovely very helpful bar staff. Will definitely stay here again when in Torquay next.
This hotel was good with plenty of facilities (three pools, one outdoors, gym, sauna). The room was adequate and the food was very good. There was two bars and a large entertainment room with entertainment on every night. The staff were very helpful and looked after us well.
The decor was fabulous and the hosts welcoming. Our rooms were beautiful and luxurious. Everything that we asked for was provided promptly and with real warmth. Overall an excellent hotel, situated a stones throw from all Torquay and the wider English Rivera has to offer.
The Hotel was pretty perfect great parking facility! Wonderful food ! !!wonderful staff nothing too much trouble!!! Decor great!!! facility excellent x DEFINITELY GOING BACK AGAIN!!!!!!Give it a try you won’t regret it!!!
Everything, staff very friendly, got to mention Dotty who was so helpful and kind.
Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice.
Hotel itself was spotlessly clean and our room had a superb view overlooking the harbour.
The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were amazing so friendly and polite nothing was too much for them we had a lovely stay I would definitely return to this hotel and recommend it to family and friends
We were only there a short while but were very impressed with the decor of the hotel and the facilities e.g lounge with incredible views of the sea and the very pleasant gentleman at reception.
Breakfast was excellent. Individually freshly cooked. The owners were friendly and accommodating of our every need. Made to feel welcome from first stepping in the hotel to checking out
Such a comfortable hotel. Everything in the room was obviously high quality and San and Sabita were so friendly and helpful. Nothing but praise for this hotel. Great position too
The hosts Kim and Trevor were very friendly and super helpful and attentive! The hotel was very clean. Good brekfast.
Very good location and convenient parking.
Excellent hotel, great location, staff friendly and helpful, evening meal in the restaurant outstanding.. free parking. Cannot fault anything to be honest.
Amazing sea view, great service, good food, and quite large family room.
Probably the best hotel in Torquay (having stayed in 3 of the same price level).
