Summerplace Game Reserve is one of South Africa’s premier mountain biking destinations. Escape to the bush and experience life outdoors. I took my fiancé (then girlfriend) away for the weekend with the intention of proposing. I got in contact with the reserve and told them about my plans and requested them to assist with the set-up. They took us out on a private game drive whilst the staff was preparing a breakfast spot at the view point. Everyone assisted and overshot expectations. Apart from the lengths they went to to make the moment special, the whole weekend was amazing. The staff is exceptionally friendly and one feels at home. I would definitely recommend Summerplace for a weekend break away.

We had a lovely time. We had booked a dinner that was very good, we sat outside in the evening, close to a small fireplace, the food and the expirience sitting there in the dark was magic. Very good breakfast, the owner, Daleen was very friendly and gave us great tips what to see in the neighbourhood. We traveled for three weeks in SA and this was our best guesthouse during the trip.

It's a little piece of paradise. We felt so welcomed and well looked after by the owner and Charl. We love everything they did at the cottage and the beautiful garden. All the details are being taken care of. It's a pity we only stayed for one night this time but we will surely return to enjoy the garden and play with the dogs.

We LOVED everything - the location, the accommodation, the peace and quiet. It was a home-away-from-home - even the resident dogs adopted us and followed our children everywhere they went on the farm.
