This Santa Barbara Motel, 15 minutes’ drive from the University of California Santa Barbara, offers a complimentary daily breakfast buffet and free bicycles to its guests during their stay. The location was good, walking distance to the beach. The room was big and had a little porch.

Wait. Was there a breakfast. Yes this place is older but you really can't beat everything you get. A great location. The room have kitchens or kitchenettes and my room had a little separate alcove for the bed. The staff is beyond nice and helpful

The bed was comfortable, nice patio with cool books, fire pit and saltwater pool. The manager was friendly and informative. Good value

Mt Williamson Motel and Basecamp is located in Independence. The motel also provides free WiFi and free private parking. The rooms in the motel are fitted with a kettle. The motel was very homey and comfortable. The bed was comfortable, the towels were fluffy, there were flannel sheets on the bed, and an interesting coffee-making system that brewed strong coffee. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Set in Palo Alto, 5 km from Stanford University, Country Inn Motel features an outdoor swimming pool, BBQ facilities and a garden. This 2-star motel has air-conditioned rooms with a private bathroom. Everything. It was so easy to access and the room was beautiful. It was so reasonable compared with other hotels in the area and, we would imagine, far superior.

Situated within 50 km of O'Donald Golf Course and 50 km of Palm Springs Convention Center, Pioneertown Motel provides rooms in Pioneertown. Location great for a visit to Joshua Tree NP, super friendly staff, cool saloon (Red Dog) just across the street for tacos and margaritas. Great outdoor space as well with chairs and hammocks for watching stars at night. Felt very safe travelling on my own there!

Attractively situated in the centre of San Jose, Convention Center Inn & Suites features free WiFi throughout the property, a garden and free private parking for guests who drive. The host was very friendly, helpful and funny :). It was also nice to have an iron and board in the room, so you didn't have to run after it. The parking at the hotel was also great.
